We purposefully leave out calcium and magnesium as those minerals, due to their large size, should be taken 2 hours away from your multivitamin. These minerals are very large and will often compete for absorption of the smaller vitamins/minerals found in a multi.

"Loved the old formula with the lemon flavor, had no problem taking them at all. The new formula is different now and there is barley any lemon scent or flavoring in them they just taste like fish now. I gag every time I take them. Such a bummer that they changed the formula I really liked the old version better :("
"They switched the formula 2 months ago and stopped including the scent packs — these pills are so fishy and hard to take now! I find myself bracing for taking them and then chugging water after to try to wash the fish taste down. Way worse than the actual fish oil supplement I take. They really need to add the scent packs back, I think. On the plus side, I still don’t normally get fishy burps with them (a problem I’ve had with similar products in the past)"
"Ok so the old ones were absolutely 5 stars. They had a lemon scent and were absolutely no problem to take. I got my subscription order in the other day and to my surprise the capsules have changed. Under the Q&A they claim to have a lemon scent from the lemon oil. . there is absolutely no lemon scent to these. They just smell like algae (very unpleasant smell). I’ve been taking these for 6 months postpartum, but they’re technically a prenatal. There is no way I would be able to take these while pregnant when you’re so prone to nausea; given the taste and smell. I absolutely love mega foods supplements but am so disappointed they changed these. There is more dha and choline in each capsule in the new formulation, but I’m not sure why they weren’t able to keep the lemon scent and bad taste away. ."

"I was happy to find a supplement that’s both Choline and DHA for my prenatal. It can have a slightly fishy aftertaste from the algae but if you eat it with food then it’s ok."
I’m so bummed they changed the formula of these. I love being able to get an additional hit of these two nutrients but I just got a bottle of the new formula and immediately gagged. They smell fishy and taste awful, I don’t know how I’ll get them down.
The taste is terrible, but as long as you hold your breath and don’t think about it you’ll be ok. Thankfully, the taste goes away immediately and you don’t burp it all day like some others.
